Big Brother 2026 contestant Chelsey has opened up about some of the biggest talking points from her time in the house, including her relationship with Lynx, the fallout from the Jedward incident and the way her social work background shaped how viewers saw her.
Speaking to content creator Tavanah Alexis following her eviction, Chelsey was asked directly about several moments that had dominated conversation around her time on the show. Across the interview, she repeatedly returned to one point in particular: viewers see one edited hour of Big Brother, while the housemates are living together for the other 23.
That context came up almost immediately when the conversation turned to Lynx.
Chelsey was asked about the now-infamous feet pictures and videos that had emerged after her time in the house, admitting she was “very shocked” by what she had seen. She was quick to dismiss the idea that the revelation had ruined some serious romantic plan between them, however, because according to Chelsey, their relationship was never that deep in the first place.
She described what happened between herself and Lynx as a “convenience thing”, explaining that the Big Brother house can be incredibly boring and that they simply enjoyed spending time together. Chelsey said she found him attractive and liked being close to him, but insisted she had never looked at Lynx as somebody she was seriously going to pursue on the outside.
Her explanation was that living in the house changes the usual rules around friendships and relationships. She acknowledged that viewers had questioned why she would kiss somebody she only saw as a friend, but argued that when you are stuck in the same environment with very little else to do, those boundaries can become blurred. In her own words, if you are bored enough, you can end up kissing the closest person you like.

Chelsey was also asked about her career in social work, a subject that had attracted a huge amount of scrutiny while she was on the programme. She said being introduced as a social worker had worked against her from the beginning because viewers immediately attached a certain set of expectations to how somebody in that profession should behave.
According to Chelsey, her mother noticed the reaction as soon as her occupation was announced. She said comments questioning how somebody with her personality or behaviour could work in social care started appearing almost immediately, and she felt that the job title created an extra level of judgement that other housemates did not necessarily face.
Chelsey also revealed that she had already quit social work before entering Big Brother. She said she knew she was not planning to return to the profession after the show and therefore was not especially concerned about whether her appearance on television might affect that career. She also highlighted how demanding social work can be, particularly when workers are handling dozens of cases at the same time.
The interview then moved into one of the more difficult talking points from Chelsey’s time in the house.
Tavanah challenged her over the perception that she appeared to hold certain views about Black men, specifically referencing the incident involving Lynx and Jedward. She explained that, as a viewer, it had at times looked as though Chelsey wanted a particular reaction from Lynx and asked whether there had been more to the situation than audiences were shown.
Chelsey pushed back on that interpretation, saying she had previously dated a Black man and denying that she had deliberately sent Lynx outside to confront Jedward. According to her version of events, she and Rihanna had felt embarrassed after Jedward challenged them in front of other housemates rather than taking them aside privately.

She said that after returning inside, she simply told Lynx what had happened and did not ask him to confront anyone. Chelsey argued that whatever Lynx chose to do after hearing about the incident was his own decision, and she referred to Charlotte’s version of events in support of her view that he had not initially gone outside aggressively.
Chelsey said Charlotte had told her that Lynx simply went outside to ask what was going on before the situation escalated after he was splashed. From Chelsey’s perspective, that distinction matters because the version shown on television made the whole confrontation look much more immediate and aggressive than she believed it had been in real time.
She did acknowledge that the incident looked bad on screen. However, she argued that viewers were seeing a short sequence shaped by editing rather than every conversation, reaction and interaction that had happened around it.
Chelsey also explained why she appeared uncomfortable during the party involving Jedward, another moment that had been interpreted as her simply disliking them. She said the issue was not Jedward themselves, but the way the event had been organised by production, which she found awkward and artificial.
According to Chelsey, the housemates were told to get ready, put glitter on and go into the living room, where they were then expected to dance to three songs. There were no drinks and very little natural atmosphere, leaving her feeling as though everyone was simply performing for the cameras rather than having an actual party.

She also clarified a moment where she and Rihanna appeared to be whispering and laughing during the event. Chelsey said Rihanna had actually asked her which member of Jedward she would sleep with, and that was the private conversation they were trying not to share with everyone else.
From the outside, it may have looked like they were laughing at Jedward. Chelsey’s version is that they were actually trying to keep a completely different conversation between themselves.
The interview eventually returned to relationships inside the house, with Chelsey asked how she felt about Rihanna appearing interested in Lynx. Her response was fairly relaxed, joking that “anyone can have Lynx”, although she admitted she would be more bothered by the fact that Rihanna was supposed to be her friend.
Chelsey did not appear to hold any lasting resentment towards Rihanna, though. She said they were still friends, that she had spoken to Rihanna’s sister and that she would like to be there when Rihanna eventually leaves the house.
She also had thoughts on Rihanna’s developing relationship with Omar. Chelsey suggested that, while Rihanna may genuinely like him inside the house, she believes things could feel very different once they are both back in the outside world.
She described their situation as another possible example of a relationship becoming more intense because of the Big Brother environment. Chelsey said Rihanna and Omar come from “totally different worlds” and suggested that reality could hit once they are no longer living together every day with no contact from anyone else.
What makes Chelsey’s interview particularly interesting is how often she returns to the difference between watching Big Brother and actually living it. Her argument is not necessarily that viewers misunderstood everything, but that they were often reacting to moments without seeing the full context behind them.
That distinction does not erase the things people criticised her for, and it does not mean every viewer will come away convinced by her explanations. What it does do is add another layer to several of the moments that defined her time in the house.
And with more housemates now leaving Big Brother 2026, those post-eviction interviews are becoming increasingly important. The television edit gives viewers one version of events, but once contestants are back outside, they finally get the chance to explain how those same moments felt from inside the house.
Big Brother continues on ITV2 and ITVX Sunday to Friday at 9pm.
